February '07 First Friday - "Notre Dame Middle School - Empowering Young Women to Succeed"
Please join us on February 2, 2007 for First Friday mass and discussion.
Our discussion speaker will be Mary Garcia-Velez who is the Principal of Notre Dame Middle School (NDMS). Notre Dame Middle School is a private school on Milwaukee’s near south side serving predominantly Hispanic girls and their families. Mary has been in education for 18 years and is entering her sixth year as Principal of Notre Dame. Her topic will be: "Notre Dame Middle School: Empowering Young Women to Succeed".
Mass will begin at 7:30 A.M. in the Chapel of the Holy Family located on the 2nd floor of the Marquette Memorial Union (15th and Wells). Mass will be followed by a meeting and discussion from 8:00 - 9:00 A.M. over a continental breakfast (suggested donation $4.00). Parking is available on Wells Street or in one of the nearby campus lots.
