Red Mass - February 26, 2006 - Save the Date!!

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, February 26, 2006, which is the date of the Society's Red Mass. Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will be held at 9:30 a.m., with brunch to follow at the Milwaukee Athletic Club. A formal invitation and more details will follow shortly.

Brief History of the Red Mass
The Red Mass dates back to the 13th century when the entire European bench and bar attended the service together at the start of each term of office. Our annual Red Mass commemorates the work of St. Thomas More who is the patron saint of lawyers and judges and was recently named by Pope John Paul II as the patron saint of politicians and statesman. As such, we specially invite honored local public officials to participate in our procession at the opening of the Mass.
